Tech Tip: The key to superior performance is cleanliness, especially in regard to the sealing system.

Seals should be removed and cleaned at least twice per week with roller wash to remove dried ink, and aper residues.

Seals should be cleaned more frequently if running coursely pigmented or metalic inks.

Using electrostatic fountain solutions, paper and clean-up mats prone to linting or picking, and overspray of thermo and litho powders or grandulated deglazers can induce rapid metering roll seal ring as well as teflon seal wear.

When you reinstall seals after cleaning, wipe a film of petroleum jelly on the form roll end and the metering roll end rings where the seals rub. This will reduce friction and increase seal use-life.

Note: Use felt cleaning seals with a good water misible wash at least once-per-week to reduce form roll end swelling, the primary cause of premature form roller failure.

Swollen form roll ends cause excess nip pressures at Kompac ends, resulting in dry tone at edges of plate/copy.
