Unlike other dampeners, Kompac wets the plate with a fine emulsion/mix film of wetting solution and ink particles produced under the high-nip-pressure generated between it's hard (56-62 Shore) water form and the even harder (90 Shore) metering roll. All other dampeners have much softer (20 to 32 Shore) water form rolls which rely on the textured, 'orange-peel like' surface developed by high-tack ink on the surface of an inked water form roll. With all other Dampeners, it is this 'textured inked surface' of the form roll that carrys wetting solution to the plate. Kompac's unique 'high-pressure ink-water milling process' optimizes the smooth transfer properties of a low tack ink, serving to enhance both dampening and the inking of the plate.
